Underground Fitness started when some friends decided to get together in a back yard gym and work out together.
CrossFit was just starting, and this was the testing grounds. This group of friends realized they had discovered something special and one of them decided to start a gym!
With bare bones equipment and a garage space, Underground Fitness was born!
Fast forward to today and we boast a 5000 square feet facility. Our members always have their own space and rarely must share equipment.
After 10 years in the business we know functional fitness and we know the importance of a strong community!
Our coaching team is the most experienced and knowledgeable you will find in our area with vast credentials and a combined 25 years of experience!
We have come a long way since those first days, but every class still feels a group of friends getting together to do CrossFit in the back yard!
Emma is one of our younger members, having just graduated from highschool this year. Emma joined Underground Fitness shortly before the quarantine, but she didn’t let the shut down derail her motivation! She stuck with her at home workouts and returned to the gym once we reopened. We’ve been so impressed with her dedication and consistency!
Here is Emma’s story with our gym......
I have always known about CrossFit but it was never something I’d thought about trying. After graduating high school the motivation to stay active was very challenging considering it wasn’t part of my grade. This caused my mental and physical health to go down. After speaking to a colleague (a fellow gym member) I thought “what’s the worst that can happen” and I took my shot. I was very nervous attending my first class thinking that I would embarrass myself with the lack of strength I had. That class we had to do push-ups and I had to do mine off the box. I remember telling myself “I will be able to do a full push-up one day”. Little did I know I would have all quarantine at home to practice.
The classes are well thought out and the energy and kindness of the gym makes me come back and enjoy every workout! I am seeing results getting a little faster and stronger with each training session and am stoked!
Ps. I can now do solid push-ups off my knees! Yay!
Krysten originally joined our BodyFit program. We could see the potential in her right away. Her baseline strength was incredible and her power on our rowing machines was a little bit scary It was her work ethic and drive that really impressed us! It has been fun to help her tap into her true potential and watch her confidence grow.

CrossFit.... if you would have asked me a year ago I would have said... “nah not my thing.” Boy I was wrong! I love the training, the people, and the results it has given me!
I started my training in the BodyFit program back in Aug 2019, and was hooked! I loved the high intensity interval training and saw results immediately! I was encouraged to transition to CrossFit and I haven’t looked back since! The workouts are hard and every day brings new challenges but it’s the most ENJOYABLE workout you’ll do.
The results have been amazing! In under a year, I have lost over 30 pounds of fat and gained toned functional muscle! My cardio vascular endurance and strength have also improved big time! .
The CrossFit community is amazing and I haven’t gone to one workout without laughing my ass off and enjoying everyone’s company.
The community, the workouts, and the results keep me motivated to show up and put in the work. I can’t wait to see what another year will bring!
