CrossFit.... if you would have asked me a year ago I would have said... “nah not my thing.” Boy I was wrong! I love the training, the people, and the results it has given me!

I started my training in the BodyFit program back in Aug 2019, and was hooked! I loved the high intensity interval training and saw results immediately! I was encouraged to transition to CrossFit and I haven’t looked back since! The workouts are hard and every day brings new challenges but it’s the most ENJOYABLE workout you’ll do.

The results have been amazing! In under a year, I have lost over 30 pounds of fat and gained toned functional muscle! My cardio vascular endurance and strength have also improved big time! .

The CrossFit community is amazing and I haven’t gone to one workout without laughing my ass off and enjoying everyone’s company.
The community, the workouts, and the results keep me motivated to show up and put in the work. I can’t wait to see what another year will bring!

I have been a member of Cranbrook Crossfit for almost 3 months. The hardest part of this journey was walking through the door! I have always had an interest in CF but due to age & some health challenges I had convinced myself I had neither the stamina nor mobility to be able to attend. In 2015 I had a total hip replacement surgery & in 2016 I was diagnosed with lung cancer which resulted in the removal of the upper lobe of my left lung. On top of that… here I was, turning 66 years old! My daughter talked me into booking a free consultation with (owner/coach) Jesse who assured me I would be more than capable with modification. So for my 66th birthday I purchased a membership & decided to go for it. With ongoing coaching & guidance I have made serious gains in a short time! This community of athletes are very inclusive & encouraging! There are modifications for every exercise so you don’t hurt yourself. Is it easy-Hell No-it is the hardest I have ever worked out but I absolutely love it! Even during the PHO to shut down we are working out as a team in a fun, supportive online environment with daily workouts. Thanks Cranbrook Crossfit-this Grandma is getting stronger everyday!!!

Almost four months ago I nervously went to Underground Fitness to see what they were all about. I had a lot of ideas about what I thought CrossFit was and was pretty sure that I wouldn’t be able to do it because I had not been to a gym in so long. Sick of struggling to get active on my own and needing to shake up my lifestyle, I decided to sign up for the six-week challenge.

When I began my goal was simply to get moving, to do something to feel better I never imagined how quickly I would start seeing results. The coaches at Underground Fitness are incredible, they have supported me in learning so much and have really empowered me to challenge myself. I have noticed a huge shift in my mindset and in the short time that I have been going I have lost 45 pounds! I have also seen incredible muscle gains that I never thought would be possible for me, let alone in under four months. Every day I surprise myself with the strength and stamina I have gained not only in the gym but also in my day-to-day life.

Since day one at Underground Fitness, I have felt so welcomed and comfortable, not only from the coaches but also the amazing, supportive members. It truly is an enthusiastic and fun community that encourages accountability and self growth. I love how everyday is different and I never have to worry about trying to decide what I am going to do in the gym. I know that when I go, I am going to work hard with a group of great people and get consistent coaching that will help me customize my workout to my level to make sure I get the best results.

CrossFit is not scary! I am so thankful for the Underground Fitness community and the life changes that this gym has helped me achieve.”
